Video SiteMaps; Create Them Automatically with EZWebPlayer

What is a Video Site Map, how can I submit one and how can it help the videos on my website? These questions are answered in this article on Video Sitemaps.

A video sitemap is a set of coded instructions (in our case an XML file) that direct Google and other search engines to your videos so that they show up in searches with greater frequency and more information for the searcher.

As an EZWebPlayer subscriber you are fortunate in that we create your sitemap for you. We also can include your videos in our already submitted sitemap which effectually can give your videos a boost over many other videos in a search.

If you want to create and download your own sitemap which indexes the video on your site instead of ours, you grab the video sitemap code and paste to a new HTML document saved to your root. Then, you enter the URL of that document www.yourdomain.com/video.html in our site.

Making Use of Your Video Sitemap

1) Go to

the ACCOUNTS page in your dashboard, copy your sitemap code and paste the code into a brand new blank HTML document in an HTML text editor like DreamWeaver, then save to your root in a form like “www.yourdomain.com/video.html”.

2) Paste your new Sitemap URL

(“www.yourdomain.com/video.html”) into the “Enter video page URL” field in your EZWebPlayer dashboard.

3) Click on

the “Download sitemap for all videos” link and paste that code into blank XML page saved on your root.

Publishing Your Videos to EZWebPlayer’s Video Sitemap

1) On your Videos page

click on the VIDEO SETTINGS link.

2) In the Advanced Options section

at the bottom of the page, check the Publish Video box. That’s all there is to it. Now, this video will be a part of our Video Sitemap.
